Enrichment is easier to plan when you split it into categories. Most homes are strong on one or two and missing the rest entirely.

Puzzle feeders, snuffle mats, treat balls, and simply scattering a portion of dry food across a room turn eating back into searching. Start easy — a puzzle a cat cannot solve gets abandoned.
Climbing routes, a tall tree, shelves at staggered heights, a tunnel, and scratching surfaces in both vertical and horizontal orientations. Aim for a path around the room that never touches the floor.
Cats learn well with reward-based training. Five minutes teaching a target touch, a sit, or a carrier entry gives real mental work and makes vet visits easier later.
Predictable, cat-led contact: grooming sessions the cat can walk away from, slow blinks, and quiet time in the same room. For many cats, presence matters more than handling.
Audit, don't add
Write down which of the five categories your cat got yesterday. The gap is usually obvious, and filling it is usually free.
