Purpose of our content
Everything on The Urban Feline is general educational information for cat owners. It is written for a broad audience and cannot account for an individual cat's age, history, breed, medication or medical conditions. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a substitute for veterinary care.
How guides are researched
- We start from the question an owner is actually asking.
- We check claims against current guidance from veterinary and feline welfare organisations before publishing.
- Where evidence is limited or mixed, we say so rather than presenting a confident answer.
- We avoid definitive medical claims and direct readers to a veterinarian for anything that concerns an individual animal.
What we will not publish
- Invented statistics, testimonials, reviews or ratings.
- Fabricated expert credentials or endorsements.
- Treatment protocols, dosages or diagnostic instructions.
- Paid placements presented as editorial recommendations.
Updates and corrections
Every article shows a published date and an updated date. When guidance changes or a reader points out an error, we revise the article and update that date. Report an error through the contact page.
Independence and funding
Some pages contain affiliate links. Commercial relationships never determine what we recommend or how we describe a product. See the affiliate disclosure.
Emergencies
If your cat is unwell, in pain, straining in the litter box, having difficulty breathing, or has stopped eating, contact a veterinarian or an emergency clinic immediately rather than searching for information online.
